A Stop Animation Snowboard Film

Created By: Paul & Stephen Gemignani
Music By: Grey Storia

One snowboard shredders adventure in an unusual setting.

The Filming Process:
We started with actual sequence photos of Paul riding (taken by his brother Stephen). Then we printed each frame of the sequences on paper and cut out the rider from each one, which we used to re-create the sequences with different backdrops, creating the stop animation effect used in the video – a very SLOW process. It was challenging at times, but it came together in the end. We hope you like the film.

ENJOY!

We’ve been looking at ways to grow the brand and offer a larger selection for the partners we work with – two things that keep coming up are hats and tank tops. Living in Florida, I definitely see a need for both. But do the folks up in Portland or Missoula? Adayak started out as a small shop offering just 9 tees and now we have hundreds of items across a dozen categories. We want to continue to grow and bring the customers what they want.

We would love to hear from you about additional items you feel we should carry. If it’s hats or tank tops then let me know which you would prefer to have available first? Tank tops for women are definitely high on our list … but something high on our list may not always be what the customers want.

Post a comment on this post or send an email to service @ adayak .com

This video by Zach Friedbauer gives an excellent look into what it takes to hike Angels Landing in Zion National Park. Angels Landing is on the top of my to do list – it just looks incredible. Not only the views but with all the surrounding wildlife.

The trail to Angels Landing is 2.4 miles (3.9 km) long. It begins at the Grotto drop off point on the park’s shuttle system. It roughly follows the path of the Virgin River for some time, slowly gaining elevation in sandy terrain. As the trail gets steeper and leaves behind the river, it becomes paved. After a series of steep switchbacks, the trail goes through the area between Angels Landing and the Zion Canyon that is a gradual ascent. Walter’s Wiggles, a series of 21 steep switchbacks, are the last hurdle before Scout Lookout. Scout Lookout is generally the turnaround point for those who are unwilling to make the final summit push to the top of Angels Landing. The last half-mile of the trail is strenuous and littered with sharp drop offs and narrow paths. Chains to grip are provided for portions of the last half-mile to the top at 5,790 feet (1,760 m). Filmed and Edited by: Zach Friedbauer. Starring: Shane Stutzman. Filmed on a Canon DSLR.

Have you hiked this trail? What was your experience like?
